Sebastian is the brooding hero we love in historical rom Sebastian Trantor is in need of a wife. Sebastian is the brooding hero we love in historical romance, with jus enough of a soft, seductive edge to make us fall in love.
Tabitha is smart and not very interested, which puts Sebastian in his place. As expected, their attraction is undeniable and they simmer when they finally connect. I've been a fan of Laurens from way back, and have yet to be disappointed. This short and sexy novella was as rich and satisfying as her full-length novels. A must read, in my book! Jan 07, Melissa rated it it was amazing Shelves: historical-romance. I'm generally wary of historical romance novels but every once in awhile, I find one that is just fantastic and this one absolutely fits the bill! I think this is the first book by Stephanie Laurens that I've read but I'll definitely be seeking out others.
I absolutely adored the main characters - Sebastian and Tabitha - and the plot was engaging and entertaining. It's a short story only pages so it's a pretty quick read and really worth the time! Feb 09, Amber Garabrandt rated it it was amazing. Loved the play between the characters! They were just so charming I was worried that, it being only a hundred pages, I would feel dissatisfied. Quite the opposite, this was one of the most satisfying romances I've read in a long time.

The characters were well-drawn, and the romance was sweet, especially when we know Sebastian had no intention of breaking their betrothal when the mystery was solved, whereas Tabitha thought their arrangement was temporary.
Though this is my first taste of Stephanie Lauren, it won't be my last. Only Love by Mary Balogh features a heroine whose shyness prevented her from being herself with men so that she was often looked over, until she met up once again with Jack Gilchrist, a man whom she knew from the war.
What more can I say? This is Mary Balogh.
Who doesn't love a Mary Balogh? The story, a straightforward romance, was a pleasure to read, and I liked how Jack's feelings for Cleo prevented him from continuing with their bargain. Hope Springs Eternal by Jacquie D'Alessandro contains the author's trademark humor that made this short story into a captivating read. In my opinion, this author was the bravest in coming up with a heroine who possessed a real physical disability -- a limp.
Though this makes her unattractive in Society's eyes, Nat didn't even bat an eyelash. More, he was entranced by Philippa's honesty and forthrightness, the way her presence soothes him and allows him to be nothing other than himself.
